our lawyer said the trustee may be interested in our tax refund if it is over $3k which it is usually rite at that but only because we usually qaulify for the earned income tax credit and also the child tax credit. can I change my exemptions on my taxes? I only claim 1{myself I think} since my wife is not working can I claim her as a dependant as well? also can I claim my wifes daughter as a dependant if no one else claims her? I dont want to screw myself where I will have to owe but I really dont want to have to give my refund up if I dont have to since that money will come in handy when we are kicked out of our house.

It is likely that at this time going forward to the end of the year that they could take your refund.
You should be able to go to your HR office and change your dependents. You probably can't get it to where they take nothing out but you could bump it up to 9 without them reporting it.May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer
