Loan modification during Chapter 7 after not paying the terms of first modification?

I thought I read somewhere on this board that a loan modification during a Chapter 7 is practically impossible.

The situation is that the debtor had already gotten a loan modification 6 months ago--made ONE payment then filed BK pro se, stating intention to keep the house. Apparently debtor did not understand that they had to keep current on the house to keep it.

Debtor hasn't made any more payments and mortgage company promptly filed for Relief from Stay.

Debtor is saying and/or thinks that they can get ANOTHER loan modification while in the Chapter 7 from this same mortgage company.

I think chances are zero... but thought I would ask the experts here.

They may be offered another mod after the stay is lifted. You never can tell. The mortgage company wants money, not the house. If they can find a way of making someone pay them more, they might do it.

I guess I should add that there are two liens on the property, the senior trust deed (the mortgage company) is deficient by approximately $25,000.
