Ex Spouse as Creditor - Equitable Distribution

I have filed and have already been through my 341. Finding this board has been soo helpful, but now I have a question I hope someone can clarify as I have gotten conflicting information.

I am divorced 2 years now which is what has brought me here. My ex is still insisting I owe equitable distribution and we are still going through family court proceedings. I don't owe him, but you know how that goes.

My bankruptcy attorney included him as a creditor (disputed) and listed potential liability amount unknown. My family law attorney said as long as the ex does not object and because it is not alimony, child support, or maintenance owed, all potential debt to him would be wiped out by the bankruptcy filing. Others I have talked to said they weren't sure if any debt to him would actually be wiped out. Bankruptcy attorney isn't available to discuss this with.

I have researched and even on other sites have read much conflicting information.

Any ideas? Anyone go through this??

    Thank you for everything !
