Sorry, I think I interjected myself in to a multi-threaded conversation at the wrong place. This is likely due to my inherent retardation... or perhaps because I am Scottish. Who knows.
I filed yesterday.
Bank of America (BOA) was a major creditor. They wrote off my debts (as I see on my credit report) months ago. I took my sweet ass time filing.
I assume they sold the debt to a collection agency.
So... I want a checking account with them again, but I am worried they could somehow seize assets.
But... how can they do that if they already wrote the debt off?
Cheers, and have some Scotch and Haggis. Mmm!

I had a garnishement from my pay since last November. I only got back what I paid out since the day I filed 6/10 because it wasn't stopped till quite a few weeks later. I did not get back everything I paid out to them since last November.

I believe in paying for what you use and don't pay what you don't. I know nobody agrees with me, but that's just me. Most people don't like my opinions because I am an unorthodox person.

I never called any police or fire. I never had garbage pickup. There's no school or anything I used. I lived in a dirt road with no lights. As far as I am concerned, those people robbed me blind. I didn't get any services that I actually use for all of that money.
I still think you should pay for what you use. When you call the cops, you should pay. If you don't call them, you don't pay. If you have kids, you pay. If you don't have kids, you don't pay.
I hate socialized bills for stuff that I NEVER, EVER use. I am just throwing money away that could be used to live on. The gov't is taking all of my money in hoards. I owe so many thousands in taxes right now for being self-employed, that I am so screwed right now. That idea about buying a new car for cash is now going away.

Not sure if the OP was ever answered due to the threadjackers who interject their own situation in any thread they post in.....
To answer your question...that payment taken by the bank would be recovered by the Trustee to be distributed to all the creditors. You would not see a dime of it.
