another thing I noticed..alot of the automated callers, they wont answer until you say hello..some times you need to say it twice, then you get "please hold for the next available rep"...ummm yeah sure call me and put me on hold. so I usually pick up the phone and say hello twice and lay the phone down and walk away..or hand it to my daughter "sooo what you doin...no they are outside...Im watchin toons{cartoons}"..."hey he hung up on meeee!!!!"
I would always say it repeatedly then when the live person came on I'd act all frustrated about why they wouldn't respond and how I thought it was a prank call. You can usually carry on this charade for several minutes.

The next game to play is "That's not how my name is pronounced". This can also take quite some time to be resolved.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

Answer those autodial calls but hang up before the reps come on. It resets the autodialer calendar and usually gives you 4-5 days before they start calling again. The computer software registers that you answered and gives you a break albeit a short one. (Whichever brain dead executive thought this one up needs to be promoted. ) Once I learned this tip I never talked to a rep again until after we filed and I was prepared to give them the details of our bk case.
      Ch 7 filed: 3/30
      341: 5/12
Discharged and Closed 7/20: Now known as- Free Willy

Exactly. When you answer, it goes on the report as answered, however it is not listing any action that may or may not have been taken. If you don't answer, it is listed on the action report as not answered and many agencies run the same call list again for the ones with no answer. That's why you get multiple calls in the same day. They just keep running the same call report over and over with the no answers. Doesn't cost them anything if no-one answers.

Answer the phone, wait a few seconds, then hang up. Even if someone comes on the line after the pause and you hang up on them, they're not calling you back if the auto-dialer is on. There's always another call waiting on them to handle.

Hopefully you're using Viatalk.com and/or Google Voice to block all of those calls. That would be insane to answer that many bill collector calls in a single month.

You saw how many creditors I have from other posts I've made. I'm lucky to get 1 or 2 calls per month! Viatalk blocks all calls where there is no number on the Caller ID! I LOVE THIS!!

Anyway I called the Attorney im going to retain and they said as long as I pay my 500$ retainer they said I can give out their phone number no problem.

I know it may not stop all the calls but at least most of these people will get the point.

I really can't believe im starting to do this. Hopefully it will be over before I know it.

I thought about editing this and getting rid of the guys voices and when a collector calls play this to them lol

Yeah, once I hired the attorney and started telling all of the collection agencies who called me about them, it put everything at ease!!!

I laughed hard at that Mr. Superman video.

I started getting calls after 2 weeks, they were all very curteous. As soon as I had my filing in and stated this, it was like putting a cross up to Dracula and that was the end of that.

Yes sir, Hot Linda will have 3 Message on the answering machine when I get home! Chase is by far the worst for me. They call about 10 times a day home, cell, and recently work. I told them 2 days ago to not call me at work. Guess what? they called me at work again today.

Thank God, we are filing on Tuesday because I am ready for some peace and quiet around the house.

Actually I thought all of this would be great entertainment.

I just make disgusting sounds in the phone.

It really can make a bad day a lot of fun.

I don't really know who's calling me. Chase and BoA seem to be bad plus Citi (who wants to work something out!.) BoA started texting me too. USBank leaves a polite message every day.

My biggest concern is how long I can let this drag out before someone files suit against me. If I can go for 10 months w/o paying it would help me tremendously. I may be able to start doing partial payments even if I get a job to stave them off.

Now citi wants to "work with me" HA, months ago when I called and just about begged for them to work with me, they guy laughed and said no way, we cant do anything for you....
Now they get nothing, guess they should have worked with me months ago when I asked them to.
When I mentioned the word ATTORNEY to them on the last call they made to me the lady stuttered, what ATTORNEY, sir is there anyway we can work this out between us, what can we do on our end to help you.....

Yes I am bitter, old and bitter.....
