We are filing CH 7 in CA and retained the lawyer on July 1st. At that time we went over the questionnaire and was told it would be 5 weeks before ready to file. I just called to get an update and was told another 2 weeks. What time frame are you in CA seeing from the date of retainer and filing? I am aware of lots of BKs being filed but would hope the lawyer knows what time frame he has.

This was one question that I asked each of the 6 attorneys that I consulted with. It can vary from 2 days to 2 months!!! Just depends....
P.S. I turned in my paperwork on Thursday (of a 4-day Holiday weekend) and it was ready to be filed on Wed.May 2008 Hired 1st Attorney/Stopped paying CCs
May 21, 2009 Retained 2nd Attorney
May 28th - Filed for Ch 7 (FINALLY!)
9/11/09 - DISCHARGED!!!!

I turned in my paperwork and had my signing appointment 2 weeks later. It could have been sooner but I was going out of town. My case was filed 2 days after I signed.Filed 5/29/09
