    Is PACER worth it?

I am one of those people who like to know everything NOW. I wanted to sign up for PACER, but my husband thinks it isn't worth the bother. We filed on 10/13 and still haven't received anything in the mail regarding when our 341 is. How long should the letter take? If I sign up for PACER will I get this information quicker?

It is worth the peace of mind... Yes you will get info quicker. I had my 341 meeting on the 19th and I already know the status of my BK because I registered for PACER today and found it online.

Status: Awaiting Discharge - Chapter 7 Trustee's Report of No Distribution

Thanks for the tips. Our 341 is not until December 12. Is there anything else I should be checking the PACER for? Where are things like "no distriubtion" listed?

At this point, there isn't likely to be anything. You could check it once per week or so, to see if there is anything new. (Such as something from a creditor, or a notation from the trustee.) Those thing aren't likely-by the way. The simplest way to check, without committing to big $$, is to just log into your account ($.08 for the name search & $.08 to look at your info page) and check the 'last filed' date. If there has been anything new, that date would change.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Thanks Staci! Does PACER tell us what we need to bring to our 341 or will our lawyer do that?

YES - PACER saved my butt!

            Yes, PACER is worth it!

I filed on Friday, 10/14 and checked PACER on 10/18 to learn that one of my forms had NOT been scanned in -- Statement of SSN -- which I had submitted on 10/14 -- but since it did not get scanned into PACER, it was considered as NOT FILED.

I went to the court clerk on 10/19 and showed them I had filed it on 10/14. They took my copy and stamped it as filed on 10/19.

TODAY, 10/24, I got a notice in the mail that was dated 10/16 -- stating that my case would be dismissed unless the missing form was filed within FIVE days from the date of notice -- which would have been impossible to do unless I had caught the problem in PACER!
I'm in N. California ... Thanks for your replies!
