    low monthly payments on cc's

I have some cc's that have low payments such as best buy which is 12$. Im going to file in oct. Do you think its worth paying the 12$ for the next 2 months to not have them call and harrass me? Im not going to pay the big bills I have but figured if its a few small ones the less people calling me the better.

    Thanks

I would just save your money and not pay them. I know it's only $12 but you need to save as much as you can to pay your lawyer.

I figured for 12$ it was worth it to not have creditors calling me.

i'd pay the $12. first, like you say you'll have less creditors calling you. but also, less bad marks on your credit report from before you file is supposed to make your fico score recover faster.

We were told we would most likely not be able to keep any card whether we paid on it or not, most would cancel anyway. So if you are paying hoping to keep this card, or if it is a recent purchase of something the trustee might question then keep paying, but if you are filing don't look at the amount of the min payment, look at the total amount of the bill with interest. If you pay the min, how long will it take to pay this bill off? We filed on everything we had. Since we did not intend to use cc again, it wasn't smart to pick and choose which card to file on. Preferential payments I believe it's called. So unless you recently purchase a large item, tv, computer.... using this card and you are worried about a problem with the creditor, I wouldn't pay it just to avoid one creditor calling, what's one more creditor calling when you are dealing with lots of creditor calling?

I actually was thinking the same thing about paying the smaller ones, but like justplaintired said, what's the difference if you have 5 creditors calling or 6. It's just not worth it.

we payed a couple of ours because they did not change aprs "due to the economy" and we did charge the stuff so i felt better about paying them BUT once the other creditors were behind they closed down our accts and sent me letters so i didnt feel bad anymore.
So we started saving up that money for the lawyer and if you are anything like us we needed every penny. even if its 20 or 30 dollars it adds up. so i wouldnt bother with paying any of them whats a few more phone calls when your already getting 100 of them?
besides that they probably get some sort of credit or tax break for the money they write off so actually We are giving them a gift! Atleast thats how im thinking about it
