i go on about once a week. i originally got the pacer account because i wasn't sure my lawyer had filed everything and i was afraid to ask... well, he did

i won't look more than once a week; the fear of finding something is so paralyzing for me that i just can't handle it more often than that. so when i don't go on pacer, i don't really think about it (though obviously it's occupying my subconcious).

When I do the query and it give us our names & info at the top of the page right under it has 'Date of Last Filing: 7/15/09' (or something close to that). If nothing new has been filed, then I don't need to view any actual documents so I don't get charged.

However, I did a query on the trustee this morning and was charged 30 dollars. I didn't even click on anything, just ran the query. Pacer has never charged me for a query before, and usually notifies me if I'm going to click on something that costs more than a couple of dollars.

I'm feeling a little freaked out to use pacer now.
Same thing happened to me, I was charged $18 for something of no use to me.
I think to prevent this from happening you need to always put in your case number. I made the mistake of running a docket report, well, for everyones docket reports because I didn't put my case number in when I switched pages.
I read below that the maximum charged for 30 pages would be $2.40, and I know at this point there are not 30 pages in my case. Thought I had nothing to worry about. But it was my mistake by searching without my case number.
The previous schedule placed a cap on the eight cents per page charge for Internet access to data obtained electronically from the public records of individual cases in the courts, with a maximum $2.40, the equivalent of 30 pages, for electronic access to any single document. The amendment extends this cap to all case documents, including docket sheets and case-specific reports. The cap does not apply to name searches, reports that are not case-specific and transcripts of federal court proceedings.

they probably have some type of program/system that tells the clerk which cases are ripe for discharge. or maybe the clerk just goes over them every day - most cases filed the same day would be scheduled for discharge the same day (because the 341 is usually the same day) so it's not so hard manually as well.

When I had not had my discharge after some 66 days and I knew I was a straight forward case I called the court at the suggestion of someone on the forum.
I was told that my case would be closed within 7-10 days so they must have a schedule based on something.

I'm trying to wait until this Friday before I call. It's hard though! We're so happy to be at the finish line!
