    Cleaning up the report....

How soon after discharge should you go into your credit report and clean it up?

I checked mine but did not try to "Clean" it up until about 2 months later for the simple fact, i wanted to make sure everything got caught up so to speak. It took that long for things to begin being reported correctly. That way i did not waste my personal time. Hope this helps.....

      Good question.
As far as I am concerned all accounts included in the BK should show "included in BK" as required within 30 to 60 days at most.
Let's face it, some of these huge companies take time for the stuff to trickle down.
Just think of how many of you were called by companies after your filing for longer periods than they should have because the right department did not get the word.
The bottom line is that you can fix this yourself. If you find your report is in error all you have to do is give the credit reporting agency a copy of your discharge with the creditors list attached to it.
They will change your report, they are required to. They will also call the offending company to verify the information too.
