question about chapter 7 discharge

So, I am wrtiing for a friend. who filed chapter 7 and did the paperwork herself. she just received her discharge notice in the mail a week ago. She reaffirmed her vehicle which I believe is the 15K. there were some student loans included in the bankruptcy and I cannot tell if they were discharged. she wants to know if she owes anything besides the car or if she owes anything at all now.

Unless she filed an adverserial proceeding herself to deternmne the dischargeability of the student loans, they survived bk.

right, even if the "claims scheduled to be discharged without payment" includes the student loans, the student loan is still not discharged.

your "friend" is still obligated to pay the student loans. Even though it may say "IIB" on credit reports, or anything of the sort- they are not discharged- you would go through a completely different preceeding to get those discharged..
