    What does this mean?

I searched, sorry, found some good stuff but I still have a question.
This says Awaiting Discharge, I guess thats kind of the thing we're all waiting for but shouldn't it say something else. I have no 341 date yet.

This is like the steps they take. The steps are limited so not every dot and tittle is shown. You are a NO asset case, the 341 is assumed to be non issue. No money to pay creditors. After your 341 it will not change until the discharge then it will say, "awaiting close" (as ours has for a year), unless you are closed the same day. Then it will say "closed".

you are good to go and on your way to a "new start". 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

technically it should say "awaiting 341".

however, there are often mistakes under "status"; mine still says "awaiting 341" even though i had my 341 already and the docket reflects that.

maybe you and i got switched!?!?!

btw, did you check the docket report? something was filed in your case on 7/16, the day after you filed the petition. i'm guessing it's the official 341 notice.

Hey, maybe then, I am closed???? Oh I wished. They now are divvying my estate (the money I had to pay for preferential payment) out to themselves and IRS. Every time I see a new document, I see 20 days of further waiting. I want it closed and over. BBBUUUTTT, discharged is good. LOL 'Hub

It's going to take me a while to get used to this. Is this the docket report?
And the entry on 7/16, what does that mean?

No, that is the history. Similar, but less informative. Each link is a pdf file. You can save them to your hard drive for look back reasons, not to get charged again. Rename them by number the Court assigns. I see no extra ordinary activity there to worry about. Mine says about the same. It will change slightly in the future, but mostly it will be the same. 'Hub

no, that's the history/document list. however, did you click on the document numbers on the left? especially the one that says "meeting" i.e. #2.

to get the docket report, when you look up the case, instead of clicking on history/documents, or on status, click on docket report. i am 99.9999% sure you have a 341 meeting date there.

click ONLY ONCE, then save the file.

Ok I found it and made a shortcut to it.
                On the 16th:
Case Checked and Notice of Requirement to File a
Certificate of Completion of a Financial Management Course.

That was the next step I was told to take when I get the letter in the mail.

And I found my 341 date and time, 8/17/09 at 3:00, a Monday.

                This is the link https://ecf.flsb.uscourts.gov/cgi-bi...enu.pl?Reports
I hope I can enter the site from there and get the info I need. I'm not going to be obsessive about it.

Do many people use pacer enough yet never go over the $10 and never get charged for it?

Well, you are going into this the hard way. Once you put your last name in and the last four digits of SS number, you will get a menu. On that menu is DOCKET. Click there and when it says open it, then open it. The docket will give a short description of the document. The link will show this document and then you will pay eight cents a page. Save it to your hard drive for look back later. Rename it by number and your own description. Key word; docket. 'Hub

                        My next question:
Since this was just filed, and it says a no asset case. All that means is that based on the information that I gave my lawyer, it's a no asset case?

The trustee could very well turn it into an asset case if he thinks my assets are worth enough to go over exemption?

I'm still debating on how to value things, and it's going to be very, very close.

Yes, your paper work indicates you have no above exemption values. Now if this changes, the Trustee will tack on 30 more days and send out the suggestion of assets to your Matrix.

Value your stuff in bulk. For instance don't list every knife, fork, plate in the kitchen. Just say Kitchen accessories $25.00, clothes $30.00, old household furniture $100.00, Two televisions $50.00. Use pricing from Goodwill or flea market prices. Let's put it this way, if you were an executor of your best friends will, what would you charge to get rid of all the stuff in his house (using your stuff as an example). It really isn't worth a lot to another person. 'Hub

Well all thats done. It's simply put I live in my fathers furnished home.
My only assets are (my lawyer asked me all this and put a number on it all) clothes: $30
my pistol: $150, tools: $80. I think that was it.
I have a personal property exemption of $1000 and whats left over can be put towards my other assets--my car and truck.

Those have been a problem since day one. I valued them the way that other assh.. I mean lawyer valued them and gave my lawyer those numbers. Those were kbb trade in with just miles entered and condition, no options.

Yesterday I tried edmunds and it valued my truck at $95!! No ones going to fall for that. At first I thought great, but then it valued my car higher, enough to make up the difference. Actually I optioned the truck up and it still came out to $165.

My lawyer said the trustee might ask about vehicle value and how I came up with the number, he told me to answer with just kbb, nothing else unless asked. But he later told me to bring a copy of that valuation.

So...if the trustee just agrees with the values, then I'm set. As I said from day one on here, my vehicle exemptions are going to be the only hang up I can see.

Besides personal exemptions, so to speak, I believe vehicles are exempt to $1,000. You live in Florida and your personal exemptions are 1K and your car is also 1k separate exemptions. Page 337 appendix, Nolo C7 book. 'Hub
