We are trying to be proactive and get a vehicle before ours is repo'd.
Today we looked at a 1999 Mercury Villager. Being sold for under kbb @ $3999.
We have a $2k cash down payment. We would finance the remainder for a term of 1 or 2 years. We are military and would have no problem setting up an allotment.
My DH was upfront about our situation and everything seemed to be going well until he started the paperwork.
They don't want to do financing until we get our discharge papers. Is this typical? Should we expect to not be able to arrange to purchase a vehicle until our discharge (hopefully a month or so from now)?
I just don't want to end up with no vehicle.
