341 yesterday, Trustee was full of questions

Well, our appoinment was at 9:30 yesterday and we were a few minutes early, but the Trustee was already behind, so the "9:30" session didn't start until about 10:30! There were very few people there that the T did not have questions for beyond the usual.

He asked people about business debts, business assets, when they bought houses, cars, child support, and generally asked miscellaneous questions verifying what was already on the paperwork. One guy he asked how much he'd earned this calendar year, he couldn't come up with an answer and the T's body language spoke volumes. The only creditor that I know of who was there was from Les Schwabb Tires.

For us, he had a ton of questions - our atty said he probably would have asked more if he hadn't been running so far behind! I can't remember everything, but he asked:
-about our charitable contributions (not used to seeing the percentage we give)
-if we had done any balance transfers on our cc's
-current status of the two homes we are giving up
-when we bought my 2008 car
-if I have been working (but didn't ask why not!)
-asked if DH had been in real estate (I was) and then talked about why I have pending com checks from a sale a year ago

All in all, I think he just seemed curious about things and like he was poking to see what might come out in the answers (like the guy who couldn't answer!). I guess if you lie on your forms that might be hard to remember down the road and you might trip yourself up.

We did see a couple from our church there - our atty said the only reason to be at that building is if you're filing, so I guess we were after the same thing! What are the odds in a spread out community of over a quarter million people, and we go to a church of about 100, and in the next town we see someone we know? Crazy.

Our atty hasn't heard anything further from the UST, so we're hoping that we're fine on that front too. Sorry for the book!

Half dozen or so at my church has filed bankruptcy and this despite our churches teaching that we should avoid debt....some of us have to go to school of hard knocks. I didn't know that until after I filed though, I've been a bit more open and honest about my bankruptcy.

If the Trustee has more questions he may send a letter asking for more info but if he concluded the 341 you probably in good shape

Sounds like it went well. The trustee also asked me if I was working but didn't ask why not.

I hope your 60 days pass quickly!

I wouldn't be able to answer that either! I don't really keep a running total in my head without refering to my paystub or other paperwork. Do most people know how much they have made from Jan 1st till today?

We do but only b/c we've had to keep a close eye on it since we converted.

Ha-ha. It wasn't really that he didn't know the exact number, more that he wasn't sure what he should say at all! Probably everyone here would be able to at least say, oh, I've made about 8 or 9 k... or something. He never gave any answer at all, the T pulled out little bits of info by talking about what was on the forms, then he waved it all off, I'm guessing he's going to ask for more documentation. Or not - maybe he'll just figure that there's nothing to really go after anyway.

I would bet that the Trustee was new - after they have done it for a few days (weeks, months) they learn who is trying to rip the system and who isn't and just blow most right through.

Good luck and the 60 will pass quickly. - jb
