finally I am going to file my bk case today. Hoping we will qualify for chapter 7, we are under median, a little worried about schedule j because we have been cutting expenses left and right. We retained our attorney 7 months ago but have been waiting for finalization of loan modification . Ready to do it!

Will be hoping and praying your BK is a Chapter 7.
Even though it was hard, I didn't cut our expenses like free long distance for extra $7 plus tax a month, and various others as I knew we would need them on our Schedule J.
I know Lawyers are swamped with Bankruptcy Cases. Hope yours doesn't drag his/her feet.
Just as soon after Aug. 31st, I will be taking our packet to our Attorney and hopefully he will be able to file on 9/30/09
Maybe you will know something by the end of the week huh? We can hope right? LOL

we went to the lawyer today!! Everything is signed, the lawyer needs to do some final drafting and will file it "most likely tomorrow". He says everything looks good for a chapter 7 but will call me if I have too much DMI "to make sure we didn't forget anything" once he puts in all the updated information we gave him today. I know this is not a big deal but I am excited to get this over with. Hubby was a little bummed on the way to the lawyer, he said he feels like a failure, that he should have been able to get us out of it without filing bankruptcy. He felt better on the way home. We really like our attorney but I am very greatful for this forum, he really does not give alot of strategic advice. He said he was very impressed, he said we seemed like we were on top of this and is very confident that all will go smoothly.Comment
