We filed this past monday, July 6. Our income for the past six months covered Jan1-Jun30. June 26 was my anniversary at work and my vacation pay/time for the year (3 weeks) became available that day. My employer does not allow one to cash in vacation time only take the time off. What issues does this bring up? This is not cash available to me so technically it's not income per se. Any thoughts?

Whether you took time off, or worked it, you income did not change. Just like sick days that are paid. It is a non issue. 'HubIf I knew it all, would I be here?? Your vacation and sick time is already factored into your income and employment package. When you take a vacation day or sick day off, you do not receive an extra day's pay for that vacation or sick day; you receive your regular pay and that taken day is subtracted from your accumulated sick/vacation time. Most companies when one leaves a company will provide that employee with the balance of their accumulated sick and/or vacation time if it is company policy to do so and those funds will be distributed as taxable income at that time._________________________________________
