Repo Man Was To Close For Comfort Tonight

Walking the dogs tonight... What do I see? A repo truck park right outside my building. So I just walk up to the repo guy, by the way he was dressed in all black walking around with a flash light. I am like " hey are you looking for my car?". He replies what kind of car do you drive? I tell him he is like "no not you tonight"! I am like OMG!!! Shock that he said that. Even though my BK has been discharged/case closed. I am still worried about them coming to get my car. I am about 15 days past due on my account every month. Even though I called the Finance company, they claim no repo action will be taken.... Just not buying it.... I did the ride thru.

    P.S
The repo guy said business is the best for him right now. He averages about 60 to 100 repos a week, that is a seven day week for him he said. I am just like OMG will this economy ever get better. It is just a really sad time right now. People that go to work everyday, have to determine weather they are going to pay the rent, feed the children. Or pay their car note??? Not to mention all the other bills.

Wow! It is a really bad time right now. Sounds like we all need to become repo men that's where the money seems to be.

They make a nice repo set up for my truck. Looks like a regular truck until the hooks come out.
The exact truck I have TAKE A LOOK
I've thought about becoming a repo man.

The night they repo'd my dads van he was in the hospital, around 2 am the dog was acting weird. I let the dog out into the fenced back yard. The van was parked on the side of the house. (had no idea he wasn't making the payments.)

The dog would not come back in so I went out to get her.
My guess is she was acting weird because one of the guys walked up into the yard to check the vin.
While bringing the dog back in a repo truck drove by and shined a light on the van.
I have no idea why, but I ran inside, got the keys, as I was going out the front door they just hit the driveway. About 75 feet from the van.
They had to drive off the side of the driveway into the grass.
I unlocked it, got inside, started it up, put it in drive....they already had me hooked, it wouldn't move. I got out, feeling like an idiot.

They were nice, they saved me the money of going to get the ton of crap that was in it, they even helped me unload it all.
When they left I just sat down and asked myself why in the hell did I do that.

If I really wanted to keep the van I could have jumped inside and let them take it, when they dropped it off I'd just drive away
        But again, thats borderline insane.

What do the repo people do if the vehicle is inside in a garage?

They wait for you to take it outside. They won't enter your garage.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick

Will they ever knock on the door or call by phone asking to take procession of the vehicle? Do they usually get police involved?

The guy that came to get mine knocked on the door and was very polite. As the wife had it at work I told him it wasn't here. He said, "going to hide it then?" Told him no that if it was in the garage I would tell him it was and even if it was that I watched tv like most and knew that he couldn't take it unless I let him. Informed him that we had retained an attorney so he asked for the name, smiled and said he knew him and that he was good. Interesting as the atty was more than an hours drive away from the house. Anyway took atty name and off he went. Immediately telephoned the wife to watch for him and, per legal advice, get the car home so we could keep it in the garage until we had a case number, which was three days later.

They called me up once to mention they are coming. I told them I will leave the keys in the ignition.

That was a low point in my life.

If the know the repo man is coming so you have to keep it in the garage. It time to get your personal belongings out and remove your tag (if in your state it is yours). They will get your car. I heard stories of when they take your car when you get out to pay for gas, or run to the ATM to do a withdrawal. I think you have pushed the limits of repo too far if this is the case.
