    Saw Attorney for Consult-Questions

    Hello everyone.
I saw an attorney yesterday for the first time. His advice was to wait until Dec 1 in order for some money to fall off and also a balance transfer done in May. I am ok with that.
I am surrendering my car and my house. He suggested I make 2 more payments on the house because Foreclosures go real fast in ga. (about 4 months) I need the house for the current expense form. I am ok with that also. I am going to do a voluntarily surrender on the car. No problem I have a car that I can use. I just cant' afford to renew the insurance and buy a tag.
My problem is if I have to pay house payments, keep utilities, pay medical insurance, food and all the other expenses how in the world am I going to save up the money to pay the attorney. ($1300). I won't be paying any of the unsecured debt. I guess in 2 months after I pay the house payments I could save the house payments in order to have the money for attorney. Anyone have any suggestions?

First off, where do you live?

Some states have programs available that utilize bankruptcy attorneys to do Pro Bono work.

Pro bono publico (usually shortened to pro bono) is a phrase derived from Latin meaning "for the public good"

Lawyers in the United States are recommended under American Bar Association (ABA) ethical rules to contribute at least fifty hours of pro bono service per year.[1] Some state bar associations, however, may recommend fewer hours.

Contact your state bar association and tell them you need help.

This is worth a try at the very least.
