    Speaking of car insurance

I see a lot of questions come up on car insurance. We have one vehicle that we are surrendering. My lawyer said that we MUST keep the insurance on it until the tow truck leaves with it b/c if something happens to it... it gets broken into a tree falls on it etc we are still responsible.

That said they are coming to pick it up tomorrow so I plan to cancel the insurance on Wednesday but if that debt is being wiped clean by the BK why would the insurance matter? I mean if you don't keep it insured and a tree smashes it what recourse do they have at that point?

    I'm just curious is all.

just be sure your state isn't one that requires you to have insurance on any registered car. ex:FLorida If your state does require insurance be sure that you keep it until you return the tag to the dmv or tax collector or where ever your state has you do that. You don't want to risk DL suspension for having an uninsured car registered to you. (that is what they do to people in the sunshine state) That would just case more headaches and lots of money for something that could have been avoided for a little amount of time and money.
