Need to put everything in Quicken and then crank out some of those nice pie charts for us to see. Why couldn't you have done a Chapter 7 if you're that broke?

Wouldn't those be sweet laws?
It's totally ridiculous for people to die or get badly hurt in car accidents when they crash at 30-60 MPH when race car drives walk away without a crash after walking away from a mangled mess at 180 MPH.
They need to build all cars like race cars. I don't care if the public likes it or not... it's to SAVE LIVES.Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. If my attorney can get me to keep both cars for an extended period of time (way past the typical 60 days where people are giving their cars back), then he will be worth every penny. I guess we'll know by November-December if this is true, right?
My bankruptcy should be filed in the first half of August. I won't be making any payments on both of my vehicles. That means the judge should rule for me to give them back 2 months later, right? That is unless this attorney I hired can do what he said and fight it where I can keep them.

I think some times making things illegal just makes people do it more. Look at marajuana... I know way more people that smoke that than cigarettes.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

I don't agree... its the same things with children... they tend to want to do the things they aren't allowed to do more, for the thrill or the threat they might get caught. Same thing with people who have fixations with having sex in public... its against the law but hey lets do it anyway for the rush... making more things illegal does not necessarily make things better.
And in your peticular case justbroke, you don't have those desires, hell neither do I...but it is there for other people. I'm glad you don't do anything illegal... but honestly EVERYONE has done something illegal...even if its driving 1 mile over the speed limit.
Its also odd for things like alcohol and from my previous example weed... one is illegal and one is not... but they both cause detrimental risks to self and society. Why is one ok just because its legal?
And how can you say ANYTHING "bad" should be illegal... how would you be able to define "bad" in a blanket fashion? Technically bankruptcy is "bad" ...but we certainly wouldn't want that to be illegal.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

Maybe you're right Amy. I just don't have a need, desire or even curiosity of doing something forbidden, illegal, or banned. I don't think it's natural to want to do so. I never "rebelled" against my parents as a teenager. I just don't understand that it's a "right of passage" or some other deep-rooted, pre-programmed, desired imbedded within all of us.
So, given that... I can't simply agree that making something illegal, makes people want to do it more.
Most driving infractions are non-criminal in most States, so driving 1 mile over is an infraction only, so I can't connect driving 1-mile over the speed limit akin to doing illegal drugs or doing other illegal acts.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)

Just because they can't put you in jail for it doesn't mean its any less of an offense. If you're Christian, there is a similarity with sin... you can't say one sin is less "bad" than another... its still a sin. While driving over the speed limit may or may not land you in a bad place its still an illegal action. Doing drugs is certainly a more detrimental offense but also equally illegal. The consequences for illegal actions of course vary, but do not negate their "legalness".
And I totally agree with you on the non desire to do bad things or do the rebellion thing... I'm the same way. But there are many many others that are different. And I of course knew a ton of those kids growing up and some adults!
And of course, you are entitled to your opinion!BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

Understood. I've never driven over the speed limit, ran a stop sign, rolled a red light, or ever received a ticket, even a parking ticket. (My recent background investigator was shocked.) I just don't want to correlate that, and let's go extremes, driving 1 mile over (could be unintentional) and killing someone (intentionally) are the same, even in God's eyes. (A liar is actually worse in His eyes.)
Okay, so this is way off topic now, and I apologize.Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
