I have a 2004 Camry with 132,000 that I want to keep but not sure if I want to reaffirm. I have to decide this week. I am thinking of doing a ride thru. Anyone had one with HSBC?

I'm with HSBC. I intend to keep my car and I'm current on my payments. I have 19 days until discharge and HSBC hasn't even sent papers asking me to reaffirm. Right now I'm talking to US bank about a redemption loan. I'm just weighing my options. I'm upside down on the car.4/09 Converted to a Ch 7 due to loss in dh's income

7/09 UST has decided to withdraw his motion to dismiss!

We seen our attorney yesterday he told us if we received anything about reaffirming to just ignore it he doesn't recommend reaffirmation and said to just keep making the payments on time and let it ride thru.Filed July 7,2009

Everything i have read is dont re-affirm anything!!!
i received re-aff paperwork from my lender during the bk. I just igorned it, kept making payments. I called them after discharge to discuss and they said as long as I am currect they should not repo.
The really dont want your car. they get .35 on the dollar after they sell it at the auction so they just prefer you make payments.

I just started taking over my mom's HSBC car payments and took her car as my own (unofficially until the loan is paid off in 2 years & she signs title over to me). I had to pay almost $600 to get them to stop repo proceedings, and I'll get her loan current within 2 months. Anyway, she may need to file a BK soon so that she has a better chance in getting into an affordable housing apartment (they check your credit) since her credit has gotten really bad in the past 1 1/2 years (became too disabled to work in her retirement anymore).
In this situation (I'm paying her loan) do you think that she will be allowed to exclude it from her BK?

B. I can't have the loan in my name because I, too, will be soon filing a BK.
