Filed on the 11th! have tax question

Well, my attorney filed for me on the 11th and my meeting is Nov. 14th.

My question is this: I know that everyone, even the IRS, is not supposed to request money during this time. I have been paying back taxes and continue to do so, but I want to know if I did NOT make a payment or two if the penalties and interest will still accrue. I am assuming they will, but just checking in case I find myslef too strapped to even pay that.

    thanks!

p.s. I DO feel better now that the deal is done - well, on its way. I also LIKE working ona strictly a cash basis - really makes you think and choose what I really NEED vs. what I WANT

My guess is, yes, penalities and interest will still accrue. The automatic stay only prevents collection of a debt, it doesn't prevent the normal course of interests and other such charges from being added to the debt.

The question you need answered is (from your attorney), regarding the back taxes you are paying, are those IRS taxes going to be discharged, if yes, then stop paying, if no, then keep paying.
