My new address is listed on the paper my lawyer gave me with the court date... The one I didn't get in the mail. That does mean that the court has my new address right. I will check to see if they have it right address after my 341....I can do that...right??? The same day I will check.

You can apply for mail forwarding on their website. You don't actually have to go to the post office and do it. It lasts for 6 months usually.

We have moved 5 times in the last 6 years. We have used the United States Postal Service online to change our address. I believe it costs $1.00 to make the change.
Paperwork received by the USPS states change of address is good for up to one year. We've never had a problem receiving our mail. Yes, it takes a day or 2 longer when an envelope is mailed to our old address and needs to be forwarded to our new address.

the 341 letter from the bk court got sent both to my old address and my new address; the one going to the old address got forwarded.
some gov't things indeed do not get forwarded, like amy said; however, they are returned to sender with the information about the new address. then the gov't office sends it directly to the new address. other gov't things do get forwarded ,though. i don't know which.
denise, if your address is correct on the court paper then that's where the court mailed your letter. the postman probably didn't know you were staying there so didn't put it in your box. all your mail questions will be completely answered once you call the post office or talk to the mailman.filed ch7 May 09

If your mail was being put in the box with a ? mark on it, it was because the carrier was not sure if you lived there or not-they were not familiar with the name. All you need to do is leave a note in the mailbox saying 'x,y & z' live at this address.
As to the change of address you can either do it online and pay $1, pick up a COA at the post office, or ask your carrier (you can leave a note in your box for this as well) asking for a COA. Forwards are good for 12 months...as stated above certain govt mailings will not get forwarded or items that have a certain endorsement will be returned as well.Filed 5/29/09

I also moved after I filed... my attorney just submitted an official change of address to the court and I see it on pacer.
