credit counseling classes

I thought I read somewhere where you had to pay for these yourself. I paid for the first one and the 2nd one my BF paid for. Does that matter???? May be a dumb question.....but in the info my Lawyer gave me it said something like that.

I was never told I had to pay for them myself? Just complete them as required and have the certificate sent to my Attorney for my court date. I don't see how it matters as long as you complete the class.
