This is my 1st post and I hope someone can help. We have filed Chapter 7 and expect our discharge shortly. We did reaffirm our home. The mortgage is current and we can pay it each month. It was the $100,000.00 worth of medical bills we had a problem with
My question is- After the discharge can we sell our home and keep our equity? We did use the state exemption ( in SC it is $100,000.00).
We don't have anywhere near that in equity but we would like to sell next year and use our equity to pay cash for a place. After all of this, living within our means is even more important to me, and not worrying about a mortgage seems like a great place to start.
