I think that is a good idea for you. You would rack up such a big bill. I have Pacer and I had been pretty nervous about this process too but I am really making an effort to stay off of Pacer but about once or twice a week and that is just to check history and then I am off.

Also to OP... I am in IA and I didn't have a pre 341 call nor did my attorney even mention it was a possibilty. Like has been mentioned, it must vary by district.

it has a FAQ page after the letter, mainly to do with the documents, but there is a section regarding the phone conference

        verbatim:

        In re phone conference

What is the purpose of the phone conference?
As Trustee, I will discuss your bankruptcy paperwork and financial affairs with you. It is imperative that I have your tax returns and pay advices prior to the phone conference.

How long will the phone conference be?
The phone conference will take about 10 minutes.

I filed bankruptcy with my spouse, do we both have to participate in the phone conference?
No. You may both participate if you like, but it is fine if only one person calls in.

Will my attorney participate in the phone conference?
Attorneys are welcome to participate in the phone conference. However, this is something you will need to discuss and coordinate with your attorney.

I can't call at the date and time assigned to me. Can I reschedule?
Only in a very limited circumstances and based on case load and on a first come first served basis. Failure to adhere to the call-in schedule can result in having your Meeting of Creditors continued because of lack of documents or improper preparation. It is very important to adhere to the schedule.
