What are the odds?

I've read many threads on here where people were worrying who would find out about filing BK. Some places list it in the paper, some don't. Our local paper doesn't. When our vehicle was repoed that was in the paper, along with how much we owed and the auction info. So I figured that would be it, the only people who knew would be those that I told.

Not that it bothers me that much if they know. There was no other option for us.

Anyway, to get to the point of this (sorry), I was checking pacer (compulsively) just now to see if any creditors had filed claims.
Well, our bank has filed two claims, one for our mortgage and one for a loan we have on a small piece of property.

Well, SMALL FLIPPIN WORLD.
Guess whose name was on the claim as the person who entered it into the BK system? My neighbor from across the street. Yes, my flippin neighbor. The one directly across from me. What's the odds on that bet? I do live in an extremely small town. But still. So now I guess the proverbial cat is out of the bag and running around the neighborhood. SIGH.

It's one of those things you just have to laugh at because really....what are the odds. I am sure if your neighbor has any tact or manners, they will not tell your information to others (not to mention it could jeapordize their job). Just go on like nothing happened. It's your business and just know that you are not alone. I am sure there are others probably within your same town that have done or looking at BK to.

This is a good one though if anyone wants to come up with a BK reality show!

Very small town you have there. Try not to worry. Act just the same around your neighbor as always. Their job prevents them from talking about that stuff so it's not like they are telling everyone they know.

Your neighbor is probably jealous you're able to get rid of most of your debt while he/she is stuck paying their cc bills forever.
