    Buy a new car?

I haven't filed, haven't even had a consult yet (atty is so busy I can't see him for another 5 weeks). Anyway, my car is beginning to spend more time in the shop than on the road. Since my credit is still good at the moment and I have a little money to put down, should I buy a new reliable vehicle? Or will the court frown upon that down the line at 341? What would be considered acceptable? If I bought a new Toyota does that look bad? Confused about what to do. Oh and I still owe a few thousand dollars on my soon-to-be-broken-down 2003 Audi. Thanks for your help.

Get transportation needs taken care of prior to filing but, from the tag on your other post it's hard to see how you can swing a car payment with a large mortgage and making $14/hour on a temp. job that ends in Oct.

You need to step back and really thinkthis thing through. I'd not file nor take on new debt until my finances were more stable.

Technically, ex is on the hook for $1100 a month to me. That brings the mortgage down currently. Also have the option to get two stable roommates that will cover 2/3 of mortgage since ex hasn't been paying up. :/ So, my mortgage will be reduced with the roommate scenario. Optimistic about a new job, already had an offer but it was in another state and couldn't up and leave right now. Took the $14/hr temp job just to take something while I look.

The problem with my car is $500 here and $700 for repairs= money that could be going towards a new car payment with 1.9% interest. I'm still paying on a 8% used car loan. But again with the addition of very costly repair bills it makes me wonder about just getting a new car.
