    Need advice on short sale...

We are in the 60 day club WOOHOO

My house is vacant and IIB. We had a short sale offer on the house before we filed that was in negotiations with the bank. The relief of stay was just granted so the house is back in loss mitigation. Buyers put the contract on it in March and I can't believe they are still waiting on it! Anyway, my question is this...if the bank accepts the short sale offer and we actually close, am I, in some way, reaffirming the debt? I saw a post about it on here earlier but haven't heard anything about it before. Does anyone have experience with this?

As always... Thanks! (love this forum)

You are in no way reaffirming the debt. You absolutely no responsibility for paying that mortgage, as it was discharged (will be discharged!) in your Bankruptcy.

You don't even need to deal with the Short Sale unless you just want to do this for the buyers. You are under no obligation to continue with the (short) sale of the home.

If you like the buyers and want to help them out... continue with the short sale... otherwise, move on.
