    pacer question

    to the pacer addicts here:

if you do a query on the case number, you get a sort of summary and one of the things on the screen is "date of last filing".

if that date does not change from last time you checked, is it possible that anything else would change? or is it enough to check just the last filing date, and if it doesn't change it's not necessary to look further (and not pay .08 cents...)?

from my understanding if the date of last filing date has not changed then nothing has been added or updated to your Pacer file...

Generally, you don't need to look at the Docket if the date hasn't changed. However, if you are dealing with Claims, then the date on that summary screen does not change.

        thanks!

another question is: if the trustee asks the lawyer for something, does that go on pacer?

and btw, justbroke you seem to know a heck of a lot!! glad to have you around

I hate the pacer for my district... it doesn't look like anything you guys have mentioned on the forums... I don't even see that MeansNo thing... Do all the districts do pacer differently? Only thing I see when I query my file is a bunch of links.... there is a banner at the top that has my name, date, last filing date and it says Asset: no.

No, it is usually done by letters or phone calls. They don't get posted on Pacer.

You are looking at the Case Result Screen.

At the top is the Basic Case information

09-9999-ABC John Doe and Mary Doe
Case type: bk Chapter: 7 Asset: No Vol: v Judge: Wyle E. Coyote
Date filed: 08/01/2008 Date of last filing: 06/04/2009
The link where the "flags" are located, like MEANSNO, and DEBTED, are located on the Case Summary screen. Notice that viewing the Case Summary screen will cost you $0.08.

If a Trustee request ends up in PACER, it means that the Trustee wants it to go before the Court. Only things that the Court needs to see goes on the docket.

As TB already mentioned, the Trustee will generally deal with your attorney through e-mail, letters, and phone calls. If it gets to a point to dismiss the case or otherwise change something, then it would be submitted to the Court.
