My attorney told me the same thing. Otherwise when you reaffirm you are starting out in the hole and behind on payments.
4/09 Converted to a Ch 7 due to loss in dh's income
5/09 UST now involved no idea what happens next
7/09 UST has decided to withdraw his motion to dismiss!

Yes, by all means keep your payments current. The reaffirmation agreement goes before a judge. One of the things they look for is if you can keep making the payments and will it prove to be a hardship for you to do so. So don't get behind.

We filed Ch7 on December 28, 2007, and were discharged August 13, 2008. We reaffirmed the loan and made our monthly payment by EFT and paid the car off in February 2009.
I have no experience with student loans so I cannot address that question.
