Checking accounts and insurance policies

Do "they" (whomever "they" are = trustee's posse) contact your bank or insurance agent for anything when you are filing, or do they send them some notice? I am only talking about a bank where I only have deposit accounts, no loans.

I am providing my bank statements to the attorney but I live in a small town and I need to prepare myself for these things.
