Is it me or does it seem kinda stupid for them to make us jump thru extra hoops? We are, after all, the ones with all the power...If they want to make it too difficult for us we can easily say...screw you, take my car and drive it right up your a..... err, you get the picture. I mean, our credit is already shot, what do we really have to lose?

I totally agree. I was like "What do you mean I cannot access my account online to make YOU a car payment". But, I guess.....there is no way someone will finance us for another car loan anytime soon, so I better handle it.

Interesting though - we have a car loan and a car lease, and the loan we did a reaffirm for, and the lease we did an assumption but the lease we do NOT have to have a hearing for, it is just entered in and we are back on track with the online account and EFT. Weird.

GMAC stopped my automatic withdrawal and would not accept any money until the reaffirmation was received by them. Until discharge, I cannot use the online payment option through their website and have to call and do it by phone ($3.95 fee). After discharge, I can set up auto withdrawal again, but I will only have 1 more payment so I'm not going to bother.

          Greetings folks:

Here are our own experiences in real time 2008. We had no hearing as the Trustee asked if we could afford the reaffirmation. She said yes. That is all I know as what Mrs. said is right on. We were like mushrooms as to our attorney. Talk to the bk department-head, and get the real scoop. I chose to reaffirm as I was not upside down and been with CU for 40 years.
