341 on june 26th..shakin in my shoes!

well i just opened my mail up when i got home from work and i got my 341 date, that is the same thing as " meeting of creditors" right?

well anyway the only thing that may screw up my 7 is that BF's income puts me over the median income, but as i exp to my atty, BF took me in b/c i was evicted and couldnt afford my rent. BF has his OWN bills, we split the rent. i buy my groceries, he buys his, we dont have joint acct or anything like that. My lawyer said he didnt think it was going to be a problem but he couldnt promise me. He said if the trustee did object i would just have to pay him more to fight it for me and prove that i need the 7.

i mean, we are not married, not engaged....i hate it that they are trying to bring him into this.

    am i gonna be ok?

      Bk4sky,

You should be fine. If you filed for Chapter 7, your attorney feels you qualify. Worse case scenario, you can always claim full rent on your schedule J with the caveat that your live in situation is temporary and that your projected living expenses on your own will be more than what they currently are. I'm over median with my partner's income and my attorney still feels I qualify for Chapter 7. And yes...the 341 is the meeting of the creditors. Good luck!

wow that is a great point about the whole rent thing, if i were to get my own place i would be paying double what i am now.

thank you both for the positive thoughts....
