    Depositing money prior to filing

I was wondering if you guys could foresee a problem with me depositing some money into my checking account prior to filing. I basically have the lawyers fee and a few hundred extra in cash.

Instead of keeping it in cash, can anyone see a problem with the trustee if I deposit the money prior to filing?

    Thanks

So long as it is actually out of your account on the day you file (checks cleared)... I don't see an issue.

      Okay thanks.

I just wasn't sure if the trustee would be like, "Hmm, where did you get this money?" (eyebrow raised). Or see it as some sort of hidden income source.

All it is, was listening to some of the financial gurus and putting some money away for a rainy day. Which obviously has come.

You just need to spend it before filing and account for the spending. Things that are good to spend on are: attorney fees, food, clothing, shelter, vehicle operating costs, medical expenses, and other necessities.
