Does anyone know if there are individuals exemptions for certain items seperate fro the wild card exemption and vehicles? I'm talking about jewelry and firearms. Are there seperate exemptions for those items? If so how much? I live in California. Also, what is the allowance for food when calculating actual expenses?

Both systems have limits for jewelry (System 1 = up to $5K, System 2 = up to $1,150). Guns are not specifically mentioned in either system, so unless the guns are valuable collectibles, they need to be included in your household goods figure. (Btw, when you file, you have to choose one system or the other - you can't mix them.)
Also, what is the allowance for food when calculating actual expenses?
Your bankruptcy lawyer (or those you interview before hiring one) will be familiar with what your local court and trustees will accept for a monthly food figure and what they won't.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
