    Prof. expenses

on my attorney survey they asked what amt to maintain professional licensure
I havn't kept reciepts but I have an idea what i spend every year

I am wondering if there is a "usual and customary" number?
a questioned vs not questioned amt?

That would be industry specific don't you think? If you are in a profession that requires ongoing training, license fees etc, i.e. Real Estate Agent, Lawyer, etc, that is what the question is asking.

I'll go one further than HHM. Forget "usual and customary". They need to be actual and documented. (Okay, sometimes you don't need the documentation, but you need to be prepared to show that you actually have those expenses, in those amounts, if challenged.)

        Thank U

they are actual and needed for employment , I haven't saved reciepts although I suppose I could request reciepts if needed for most
expense is coming up again but not until after anticipated discharge
maybe I will just leave it out...

        Thank You

When i write actual, I mean down to the penny. An actual expense would be $95.98 and a guess at it would be ~$100. Not that nickle and "diming" will get you in trouble when it's a dollar or two. I'm just saying that actual is truly the exact amount of the expense, not a guess.

Did you pay these with a credit card or a check? Perhaps you can check those receipts / statements?

I could call the company though and get a copy ( i hope)
but the little things (that do add up) i will not use

You could probably contact where you paid the fees and get a receipt, you could just mention it is for tax purposes and you had misplaced the other copy.
