Legally you have to have completed the course 45 days after the first scheduled 341 meeting. However many lawyers like for you to have it done in 30 days or less so that they have sufficient time to file the certificate.

September 4th, 2007: Discharged and Closed.
I did mine before my 341, since the attorney's office told me it was a good idea to get it over with. I also heard attorney's telling their clients at 341 that they should get it done ASAP so they don't forget about it.
Filed Chap 7 on 3/6/2009
341 on 4/15/2009
Discharged 6/16/2009
We had our 341 Friday. The lawyer said we legally have 45 days to get it done but he'd rather we do it this week. He says the sooner the better. I did mine Friday night and I'm waiting on dh to finish his.

5/09 UST now involved no idea what happens next
7/09 UST has decided to withdraw his motion to dismiss!

i did mine before my 341, gave to the Trustee and filed a "proof of service" with the court along with a form that the court sent me which has to be completed and sent in with cert.
i used an online firm called 50-30-20 Money Plan. it was the cheapest at $14.95(and was approved by my local court), took at least 1.5 hours. im Pro Se, although i used a law firm that filled out my paper work, they suggested to get it done soon after filing. some wait till close to the deadline, but why? might as well get er done asap.
