    Pacer question

Do any of you have a pacer acct, that you did not register with a credit card????

Do they bill you? How often do you get bills? I just didnt want to give them my debit card number, and end up screwing up my checking account.

I dont even know if any info would be on there yet. We filed on 5-7-09 and have our 341 meeting on 6-9-09

I did register with a debit card, but as for billing, they are only supposed to bill you at the end of the quarter (end of March, June, Sep, and Dec) if your total bill exceeds $10. If it is less than $10, you won't ever get billed.

I put in a "request" for a pacer account and they just sent me a pin number in the mail. I haven't used it yet, as I am not filed, but I think they bill you every 3 months or when your bill reaches over $10 (if I remember correctly from the paperwork they sent me). I want to use Pacer to check out attorneys (which ones do the most BK's, etc.), but I've read on here that my bill could easily be a few hundred dollars if I did that...

Yeah, I got billed $15.00. Wait until you have a case number. Then query by your case number. Download all of your documents into a pdf ( document) and save it to your hard drive. Then in the future the only time you need to do a query or look at your docket report is when the date has changed above. This will tell you someone in the court system or attorney entered something into PACER. This will keep your bill way down. I most likely would not have had $15.00 if I would have used the advice I just provided. They also give you ample notice of when the money is coming out of your account. I knew a month before. It is billed by the Quarter.
