Credit Alert: New Creditor!

As I patiently wait for my 341 meeting, a credit alert showed up on my truecredit account. It says that a new collection agency has an account I included in the creditor matrix. What should I do? Should I amend or should I contact them directly and give them my case #? They are collecting a debt that I already included along with the collection agency before them. Any advice?

I also have noticed some accounts saying included in bankruptcy...which is good but does that mean that the 341 will go even smoother since no objections have showed.

If you included the OC in the bk filing, I'd do nothing other than send a letter to the collector stating you've filed bk and give the case number and tell them never to contact you about the matter.
It's not uncommon for OC's to immediately sell your debt when they see a bk filing. Here's one debt collector that specializes in this stuff.

What they hope for is, you're an asset case or the bk is dismissed or convert to a 13 and they can file a claim or in the case of a dismissal, start collection efforts.

You need not do anything. It is up to them to inform the Court that they have taken over a listed debt. You did your part. The practice of selling debt at a huge discount is common and the new owner of the debt is in hope they will get a bit of it as mentioned above. They won't. You need not to worry. 'Hub

Thanks for your responses. I will mail a letter with case # to let them know. Only one more week 'til my 341.

I would do nothing, They will resell debt over and over. Your debt is already protected by the bankruptcy. Why waste your time.
