Many banks have cross collateralization on their accounts and many people are unaware that they even agreed to it when they got their account.
    It's not all that new.
When I inquired about it with our accounts at B of A as I had an RV loan with them my attorney said "get your money out of that bank" which we did promptly. He nor we knew if we had an agreement and who keeps the paperwork they sign up with anyway? The bank does!
If you don't know what you signed, and you have a CC or other loans with your bank you could be in danger too.
We did not take any chances and moved our funds in accordance with our attorney's advice.
Sorry this happened to you but as far as I am concerned this is just another example of a poorly trained attorney and they should know better.
What are we paying them for???
