Is a motorcycle the same as a car on means test

If we have a motorcycle (well scooter actually) and a car, can I claim both of them on the means test so that there will be Vehicle Operation Expenses and Vehicle Ownership Expenses for two instead of just the one car. The reason that I ask is because obviously a scooter is not going to have anywhere near the expenses to operate and own as a big ole' SUV.
Is a vehicle a vehicle and they all get treated the same, even a lil ole scooter?
Anyone ever use their motorcycle scooter as a vehicle on the means test?

I was wondering the same thing! My husband and I will be filing; and now we only have one car. We bought him a scooter to get around with.

I would think you could include it... But obviously i don't know either.

Yes, if you actually use it for transportation and it simply is not a luxury (i.e. a married couple has 2 cars, and a motorcycle, most districts view the motorcycle as a luxury and disallow the expense).

Technically, your state code will define a vehicle, but generally a scooter should fall into that category. Now, on schedule I&J, you claim "actual" expenses, so the real cost of the scooter will be there.

We will actually have just one car and one scooter for the two of us, so that scooter is not a luxury. I guess I will be looking up state code then to see if it is a real vehicle.....as for expenses on the J, that will actually be a laugh. Gas....$15, Insurance...$15... Image of my hubby riding a lime green scooter to work everyday....priceless! (yea, I know the cc company commercials are permanently etched into my brain, and we wonder how they get us sucked in)
