    341 Meeting Scheduled

I got my packet back from my attroney today and my 341 meeting is about 3 weeks away, June 5th. I will have to contact them about errors made in the papers.

The office filled in some of the amounts wrong a couple of creditors and one other little thing.

Also is there anything I need to notice in this paperwork? I do see that it says The presumption of abuse does not arise.

Also on my house, my old, rundown house that I have been concerned about, he is claiming homestead exemption I think. Even though I just bought the house on contract last year. They say this guy is one of the best so I pray this goes ok.

I am just nervous and will definately be stopping in his office tomorrow to show the office staff the corrections that need to be made. He said right on the front page to advise of any errors.

Glad you got your 341 hearing date.

Our Attorney told us that if we didn't know the Exact Amount of a Creditor, to give our best estimate. However, it is best to point them out to your Attorney.

Hope you don't receive any letters from the Trustee requesting additiional information before your 341 hearing. Georgiamommy had her 341 meeting today and she said it lasted less than 5 minutes.

I think there are more bankruptcies being filed than in the past & Trustees are overwhelmed in paperwork and being a government position, due to the recession, no relief is in sight for them. This is one time I'm glad LOL!

I pray this goes easy. I do have another question though. I told my attroney that I lived in a community property state to Oct. 2005. My divorce was final in April 2006 and had already moved back home to IA.

He put none on the form that ask about that. Several of the attorneys I saw said I didn't have to do anything with that. The form says 8 years, why do they say no?

Not quite understanding your syntax, but if you are divorced community property is null and void. (unless she signed for something). As far as homestead, GOOD, you will keep your house (providing you pay that mortgage). The 341 is a "piece of cake" if you were honest in all your paper. 'Hub

Ok, that makes sense now. Sorry I don't understand all this stuff and I just want to make sure that this goes as smooth as it can.

Oh yes, I will be making those house payments. If I can get through this I'm not saying everything will be a piece of cake but I then have 2 years of house payments and this roof over my head is paid for.
