We were discharged last week. We owe 22k (late charges and haven't made payment since Nov.) on our Jeep worth 7k. We were going to turn it in but the CU wants us to keep it for 9k. So we have been calling for the past month to our lawyer saying we need to sign those papers before we are discharged. We emailed and called every other day for 4 weeks. We finally got an answer last Monday (2 days before we were to be discharged) and she couldn't get us in until today to sign papers to keep Jeep. We were on our way and almost there when they called and said not to come because we are discharged. No duh! She has to figure out something with the bank now and hopefully we can still keep Jeep. I better be able to keep it. We can't get another vehicle and I need that for work or I am out of business. She hasn't called us back yet, and my nerves are shot. I thought we were done.

?? If you wanted to keep your jeep then why did you stop paying for it in Nov? That was a huge mistake to make. All you have to do is pay the cu from Nov current and they should let you keep it. And that is without reaff. papers. You do not need to reaffirm to keep vehicles...the banks, CU's don't want the cars - they want their monthly payments.Filed Chapter 7 Pro-Se May 29, 2008

Your discharged. If you want to keep the Jeep, just go to the CU and ask for the papers and both of you sign them. It sounds like the CU is writing a New Loan since they offered you 9k. Might be perhaps your 1st payment is due 30 days after signatures on Loan papers.
Just my thoughts on what you posted.
