Spending after filing

Hello,

I'm set to file Chapter 7 either this week or next. My question is, will my account continue to be monitored AFTER the filing date? My father is ill and lives 3,000 miles away. I need to purchase a $265 plane ticket so I can see him soon. I just don't want the debit card purchase to raise a red flag. Suggestions?

Visiting a sick parent would not raise any flags.

There is a possibility that you would be asked to provide paystubs and bank statements at the 341 from the time of filing til the 341 however that is not even done in the majority of the cases. If such arose and they asked what is this, just tell them your father was ill and you went to visit him, nothing else would be said.
