I need a new attorney yet again! WHY!

My first attorney was rude and crabby on the phone and was hard to get ahold of.

Now I'm using a local attorney thats part of a national bankruptcy network; not sure I can say the name in these forums. The problem now is I keep getting recorded calls and letters stating I missed my appointment. Which is not true, I signed the contract and put down a retainer two weeks ago; I also called and told them this and they claim their files have not been updated yet. I think the problem is the local office is not communicating with their paralegals in the central office; or maybe its the other way around. Considering I'm about to part with over 1,000 bucks I don't take this as a good sign, what kind of way is this to do business? Am I going to be stranded at the courthouse because they can't find my file? Are these places that advertise on park benches reliable?

Is this par for the course when it comes to flat fee attorneys? I just can't afford the big firms. Can anyone give me a recommendation for somebody to do a Chap 7 near Seattle at a reasonable rate? I really am ready to get going with this and move on with my life. But I'm not going to take the chance on incompetence.

You usually get what you pay for. The places that have the big phone book ads and advertise on TV at 2:00 a.m. are best avoided if you want quality representation or any representation at all. Pull out that signed contract and read everything. It could be anything from the place just being overwhelmed with work or shoddy paperwork handling. I think what you are seeing is what you are going to continue to see as your matter progresses. See if there is a main number in your contract for this organization (corporate office, headquarters, etc.) and call with any complaints.
