My car just died, and I still owe money on it. Is it too late to add it to the bankruptcy?

Can you add a debt to the schedules after the 341 meeting?

Your car should have been in the petition from the beginning - go ahead and add it and any other debt you left out as of the filing date. It must have been pre-petition debt in order for it to be added. Call your attorney to amend.Filed CH 7 9/30/2008

I filed pro se, and I did mark the car as exempt at first.
Although, my bank did contact me awhile ago with reaffirmation papers for the car and my credit card, telling me that if I continue paying them, I'll be in good standing with the bank. I didn't fill either of them out.
I did ask them if they would repossess the car if I didn't fill them out, they told me they would.
Though now that the car is dead, will they be able to sue me or something to pay for the remaining balance?
Also what steps are taken to amend the petition after the 341 meeting?
