Next Wednesday for my 341 as well. Nervous as well.
I am in bad shape with a high income, US Trustee objections, and credit card debt $170,000+. I need to get in there and see what happens. I so want to believe that the five minute deal most people talk about will happen with me but based on the information already requested, I am in for some stressful work.
Best wishes to us...

Yours should be a piece of cake. I can tell you not to worry BUT you still will. You will be just fine.
Goodluck
UHOH - we were waaaay over the median had 190K in cc and 90K in 2nd mortgage and had the UST up our butt within 2 weeks after we filed and our 341 was a walk in the park. It lasted maybe 5 minutes. It was the same questions they asked all the other people. The trustee also said at the end that the UST has filed an abuse claim on you and said I see no abuse at all. Have a good day. Goodluck. It was over so quick and I thought if the UST got involved that our 341 was going to be hell.
Just go there with the attitude that this is a business transaction.
Goodluck to both of you....

Exactly. I prefer to not let anyone know. Adds stress though.
My attorney started out saying not to worry but has recently changed his mind a little with the requests for data that have been made by the UST. He fears I may be the hardest case he has ever done now. But who knows, it can still be a five minute thing and they just let it fly by. Hope so.
I know I have not made any big purchases to question. Attorney said they'll look for large purchases and try to ask why there are no assets from them. In my case it's just a BUNCH of little ones that add up. I charged everything and got caught up in it.
Life has since changed and I am hoping they give me the opportunity for a fresh start.

I just got through mine today. I am the most stressed out, freak out about everything type person. I literally just didn't think about it and I was a bit stressed this morning but more relieved that it would soon be over. The trustee had the flu, had to keep bringing it up, was rolling her eyes at people and shaking her head. Not so professional.
The only ones that lasted long (and there were a few) where were people had money they weren't fessing up to. Some lady got a $10,000 tax refund and some other large payout, put it in her checking account, turned around and filed bankruptcy. She was unable to state what happened to that money.
Another lady made like $1800 a month, but then every month had additional payment - anywhere from $2000-$4000 put into her account and couldn't state what those where. Sure, someone is just putting $4000 a month into your accounts and you just have no idea...
The only thing I was asked (I am also a single mom) was why was I taking out my payroll deduction payments as soon as they were deposited. I told her my attorney advised me too (didn't make a whole heck of a lot of sense to me either). She laughed and told the lady there on the behalf of the attorney to tell him to stop telling his clients that as it only makes it harder because they have to come up with receipts.
There were also several people that hadn't provided there 2008 tax returns and they were told they needed to do that.
You don't need to be embarrassed when you go there - EVERYBODY is in the same boat.
Many people in jeans, t-shirts. One lady in sweats. Another in acid washed jeans, some goofy t-shirt and wearing a nice jacket on top. Ok.
Really, it's not a big deal and will be over before you know it!

I was so nervous from mine and there was no reason to be. I couldn't eat or sleep but our lawyer said it was nothing to stress over. He was right, we showed up a 1/2 hour early, listened to several cases, half of them were repeat filers, the trustee was nice and when I got up there I knew all the answers to the questions she asked and we were done in around 3 minutes. Don't sweat it, it will be over with in a couple of days.

What to bring during 341??
Can anyone tell me what I should bring with me? Bank statements, how far back? Tax returns? I am been pretty satisfied with my attorney but not overlly excited about him. He likes to e-mail rather than call you and then sometimes he may or may not answer your e-mail which is really started to annoy me. He has not told me if I need to bring anything with me, I can only assume that I should probably bring my bank statements? Can anyone give me some guidance?

I have not been told to bring anything with me. Even my attorney has not told me anything to bring. Do they go through your bank statements line by line right then? That would take forever! I have all of these things together and ready to bring with me:
Bank statements for past 30 days
2008 tax return
pay check stubs for the past 60 days
should I bring anything else?
