Well, my case was filed last week (4/30/09 apparently) and today I got a bunch of correspondance in the mail from my lawyer. One being a fat packet with my 341 date and my petition stuff printed out. I now have a case number - in case any nasty cc's call me which probably won't happen.
My date will be 6/23/09 at 3pm. Longer away than I was hoping for. (grumble). Hmm, that is almost 2 months away. Don't like that. Does that seem too long away or is that normal? I thought it was supposed to be like 30 days after file. From reading the posts on here, I am thinking that the lawyer has several of their clients to all go on the same day so maybe it was scheduled as so because of that. So, there will be other unfortunate souls like myself there to keep me company.
I admit my relief that the thing is NOT in the morning as I am SOOO not a morning person. Of course that means I have more time to be nervous during the day but who cares.
They also sent me a letter that said they are missing my 2008 State Taxes which I know I gave to them so I had to call and have the secretary re-check on that one. I know the lawyer and I went over all my printouts. She re-checked and they were there.
The other letter I got was to pre-warn me about my pre-discharge class I need to take which I will take through the same online place I took before.
So looks like I am at the next step!
I have already noticed that two of my cc's accounts have totally disappeared from my online accounts. One Chase Mastercard and One BoA Visa. I was receiving e-bills through BoA online services and they cancelled my BoA e-bill service and the bill wasn't due until May 8! So I never was overdue on that one.
My other Chase card, a Visa, is still showing up and I can't tell with my Citibank which is a Mastercard because I never activated the new account (security breach thingy) but I can still log into my old one which still looks the same. Wonder why these two are taking longer? First I though it was a Mastercard/Visa thing but than I checked my cards to see which ones were which and it was one of each.
My Chase checking account is still safe and sound. I have been using my debit card so that still works (for those who were worried about that). I am planning on taking out some money today so I can start an account somewhere else.
I also claimed my cell phone on there - the bill isn't due until May 8 but it still works right now. My lawyer said it would probably be disconnected 2 weeks after I filed so we shall see. I gotta start looking for a pre-pay now.
I am on my way!
