Ok, there have been so many helpful posts on reaffirmation, what it entails,, and why to (or not to) do it. But after my searching I still dont get a couple things....
1. If a debtor like me decides NOT to reaffirm, and jsut ride through, but I realy need to keep tha car, is there a chance of repo anyway? What would cause htis? (i am on time and plan to remain that way through bk - filing hopefully in july)
2. If I attempt either 1) a 722 redemption or 2) to modify/negotiate the existing loan and both DONT WORk - will they automatically say too bad, or can we still keep the existing terms?
I would hate to try for a change, and then since they see htat I am struggling and asking for help, they assume I cant pay and take the car anyway. (I have two cars I am thinking of doing this with)
I just dont want to take the risk if it will hurt my chances of keeping the cars.
Also, besides the 722, is there any way a lawyer can just call my existing car creditor and negotiate or do i have to do that? And if I have to, do i call before i file bk or after?
THanks in advance for any help with this
